Multriwell's design

Multriwell can be installed both after and during the process of waste disposal. Although all installations will be designed to meet custom requirements, two basic configurations can be distinguished.

One-layer extraction

If applied during its closing phase, the system will be installed on top of the landfill. The extraction of landfill gas can reach a maximum depth of twenty meters.

Multi-layer extraction

Landfills designed to be high can also benefit from the Multriwell system. At one of more moments during the process of filling, a system including a cover layer and drains can be installed. After that, the process of gas extraction already begins. A new layer of waste can be placed on top of the first. Vertical drains penetrate previous cover layers for maximum gas extraction.
